In order for you to effectively market your service and reach your client on a relatable basis, you should be reaching out to your ideal client. But WHO is your ideal client?
When you think of your ideal client, what comes to mind?
A great way to do this is to think about your top 20% client base right now… what traits do they possess? How do you feel when you work with them? What do you like the best about working with them? What are their traits and characteristics? What are their demographics?
Another way to determine who your ideal client is, is to have your clients take a survey and incorporate the question, “Would you refer me and/or my services to others?” If you get a high number of satisfied consumers, you know you are targeting the correct clients. This in itself is another way of free publicity; when you find the clients who are satisfied, ask them for a referral – a good reputation goes a long way!
What if your ideal client is all people? It is more effective to reach out to one particular client, but that doesn’t mean you have to forget about others! Focusing on one client not only helps your marketing tactics, but it makes life a little easier for you. You can include some other tactics that reach other audiences, but always keep that ideal client as a priority.
Having a hard time differentiating ideal clients from non-ideal clients?
