Becoming A Successful Female Leader: Two Powerful Tips

Being a successful female leader and entrepreneur can be complicated. Although the title is empowering and comes with a certain status, the flip side of the coin is that you now have plenty of things and people you are responsible for. No leader can go it alone, and this means that it is extremely important to choose your tribe wisely and be a lifelong learner when it comes to building your empire.

Becoming a Successful Female Leader: Tip 1

Yes, even as a leader it is vital to find a killer mentor and use them. If you find someone who is on a career path you admire, spend time with them. Get to know how they do things, and be honest about your time commitment to get the best use of their time and yours. For me, I get the most out of my genius network group. This group connects me to other high-level entrepreneurs and facilitates collaboration, contribution, and business breakthroughs.

Becoming a Successful Female Leader: Tip 2

In our groups, we cover a variety of issues that affect a business and push them forward. This brings me back to building your tribe: for me as a CEO, what makes a great team member stand out is someone willing to not only do their job well but who goes above and beyond. I like to call them “Batteries Included”. You want people who will bring solutions to problems outside of their core role; moreover, you want reliable fronts of energy that can invigorate the rest of your team to strive for better. And, as always, you want someone who is invested in your company’s goals.
